Our History
In 1990, Suministros Kelonik, a leader service company in the Spanish cinema industry, created the KCS (Kelonik Cinema Sound) division, as an answer to the market needs. At the time, only a few manufacturers could offer speakers that were specifically suited to cinema theatres, and none of them in Europe. That is why Kelonik decided to start a research program and develop a wide range of speaker systems. The project came true through a joint venture with D.A.S. Audio, an internationally renowned manufacturer of professional loudspeakers.
Very soon, KCS cornered the Spanish market, then the rest of Europe, and later on was driven to work in other countries and establish a wide network of distributors in the five continents.
Company Philosophy and Motivation
From the beginning, as a result of the high performances of KCS speaker systems, a large part of the model range was approved by Lucasfilm® for use in THX® installations and thus became the first European firm with speaker systems approved for the THX program.
KCS speaker wide range systems are specifically designed to meet the playback requirements of digitally encoded sound tracks.
KCS is highly implicated in the development of such sound systems aimed for Dolby Atmos, Auro 11.1 or similar.
KCS holds a very high market share in Europe, and exports to other countries such as Bolivia, Brazil, China, Chile, Egypt, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, Venezuela, and more.
Most prestigious domestic and international circuits use KCS acoustic systems in their multiplexes.
Today, more than 4000 cinema theatres all around the world are installed with KCS speaker systems.
